A modern truck reports location, fuel use, idling, faults and driving style. The problem is usually no longer a lack of data, but its volume and unclear ownership.

Begin with three indicators the company will actually manage, such as idling, route deviation and fuel use. Each needs a named person to review it weekly.

Drivers need contextual feedback. One harsh-braking event proves little; a repeating pattern on the same route may reveal a genuine issue.

Model scenario: three vehicles show 7, 11 and 19 percent idling over the same month. Assigning the third vehicle a specific target and checking the same route two weeks later turns a dashboard into an operational decision.
